In 2021, here in Dingle, Fran and Feargal launched their brand LilyMais, turning reclaimed hotel towels, denim and end-of-line fabrics into one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories. It grew from a simple belief: that overlooked materials—and original ideas—deserve another life.

Along the way, they found a community of independent Irish designers and makers who shared that spirit—people creating slowly, thoughtfully and with their own hands.

In 2026, The Slow Concept was born: a home for contemporary Irish design, where everything is designed and made in Ireland. Every purchase supports independent creativity and keeps remarkable skills, stories and ideas alive.
